The above-referenced legislation would establish a reproductive health services training and education grant program to train providers, interns, and residents in the performance of abortion, and establish an abortion training and education fund. The New York State Catholic Conference opposes this tiresome, pandering bill for the stunt that it is.
Housing Program for Persons with Developmental Disabilities

The New York State Catholic Conference supports the above-referenced legislation which would support parents in the discharge of their parental responsibilities and promote the structure and stability of the family unit. This bill would require 48 hours’ notice to one parent prior to abortions performed on children under age 18.

The above referenced legislation would require consideration of reproductive health services as part of health equity impact assessments. The New York State Catholic Conference opposes this bill, which is another attempt to malign Catholic Hospitals.
Working Families Tax Credit

The above-referenced legislation declares that any state contract “shall be rendered forfeit and void” by the state comptroller if the contracted agency did not include in its employee health care plans “services for transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive people, including but not limited to hormone replacement therapy, gender-affirming surgery, and treatment typically associated with one particular gender.”

Increase in Value of Rent Subsidies
The above referenced legislation amends Section 409-A of the Social Services Law to increase the value of rent subsidies for families whose lack of adequate housing puts their children at risk of entry into the foster care system or delays their reunification. The maximum monthly subsidy would rise from $300 to $725.
The New York State Catholic Conference supports this bill.
