The worldwide 2021-24 synod, For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission, called by Pope Francis has followed a process in the United States consisting of local listening sessions, which have been synthesized into diocesan reports, followed by a regional synthesis of the diocesan reports, which in turn were synthesized into a national report, which has been sent to the Holy See, along with reports from every national episcopal conference around the world.
