In relation to coverage for prenatal vitamins 

The above-referenced bill would require certain health and casualty insurers to provide coverage for prenatal vitamins. The New York State Catholic Conference supports this legislation.

Prenatal care is critical to ensure healthy birth outcomes, and we must give expectant moms the resources they need to deliver healthy children. New York must lift women up, support them, and stand in solidarity with moms and babies. Ensuring that pregnant women have access to prenatal vitamins is an important way of doing this, and we applaud the sponsors for this initiative.

Prenatal vitamins are a small but important piece of the puzzle as we support expectant moms and build a culture of life New York. We urge you to support this legislation.
